THE STORY “Our story began in 1974, when we were still watching black and white TV. At that time, apprentices were taught to make glasses completely by hand. Filing, retouching, and finishing them with the fine cloth, curing the couplings, mounting the hinges with the riveted nails, defining the fit. The scraping blade was passed over the temples to remove any edges. And wheels, wheels, and more wheels to mirror shine the frames. Immense effort, but in the evening after a hard day’s work, we were satisfied that we had learnt something and put something of ourselves into every frame.” Fabio Stramare, Dandy’s designer
